If your family is anything like mine, then they love to shop! Shopping is a must-have for all of our family reunions and we always make sure to have a local shopping destination on the itinerary. The Strip District or “The Strip” (as the locals call it) is a one-half square mile shopping district full of incredible food, great shops and markets, sidewalk vendors, and the original Primanti Brothers restaurant.
Back in the early 19th century, the Strip District was home to many factories like U.S. Steel, Westinghouse and The H.J. Heinz Company (yes, ketchup!). By the early 20th century, wholesalers, restaurants and grocery stores started to move into the area. Now, it’s home to many eateries, art studios, specialty shops, and bars — there is truly something for everyone. For a list of shops in the Strip District, please click here. Or, click here for the Restaurant Guide.
Ample parking is available around the strip district — including garages, street parking and parking lots. Click here for a map of parking lots and garages near The Strip.
