“Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof” – this is inscribed on the Liberty Bell, a 2,000 pound iconic symbol of American independence. On July 8, 1776, the Liberty Bell rang from the tower of Independence Hall summoning the citizens to hear the Declaration of Independence.

Couple this tour with your tour of Independence Hall. Admission is free to see the Liberty Bell and no tickets are required, however entrance is on a first-come first-served basis and security screening ends 5 minutes before the building closes. For family members who are physically disabled, the Liberty Center is wheelchair accessible. Assisted listening devices are also available for the hearing impaired. There are no restrooms in the Liberty Center, but they are restrooms located in the Independence Visitor Center (which is nearby).
